“We wanted to remove several walls on our ground floor and create a second floor. Our builder gave us the green light, but told us building regulations meant we would need a domestic sprinkler system for the new open plan space.
Nationwide were able to provide a quotation from our existing floor plans, but informed us our older water main did not have the flow required to feed the sprinklers directly. The solution was to fit a pump and tank in the loft. The whole installation went as planned and took less than a day.
Most of the pipework was hidden away beneath floorboards, and the sprinklers fitted into holes in the ceiling – are hardly visible at all!”

We got our plumber to install sprinklers but when he realised that he had no qualifications to support his claim that the sprinklers would work the building control officer refused to accept his installation. This is probably why we cannot get hold of him and he will not answer our calls or letters. As discussed we will need you to replace the sprinklers and pipe and start again.”
